Syria in Last 24 Hours: Army Regains Control of Strategic Region in Deraa


The Takfiri terrorists of the Al-Nusra Front were pushed back from the surrounding areas of Al-Hareh in Deraa, and killed over 100 terrorists in the clashes.


Also in the past 24 hours, local sources said that the advances made by the Syrian army in the different districts of the Aleppo city and its outskirts in the Northern parts of the country have prepared the region more than ever for national reconciliation.


Meantime, according to FNA dispatches clashes intensified between the Syrian army and the Tafkiri terrorists in several parts of the country.


The Syrian army completely destroyed several terrorists groups in Lattakia countryside.


Elsewhere, the army units killed a large number of foreign-backed terrorists in Deraa countryside in the Southern parts of the country.


At least 50 militants of the Al-Qaeda-linked Al-Nusra Front were killed in an ambush of the Syrian army in Deraa city.


Meantime, the army units made major advances in the town of Arabeen in Eastern Ghouta, killing at least 35 terrorists in fierce clashes.


On Friday, a military source announced that the Syrian forces have gained the upper hand over the foreign-backed militants across the outskirts of Deraa.


A large number of militants were killed and wounded and so many others fled the battlefronts after Syrian soldiers' massive attacks against their strongholds in al-Jubailiyeh area and cement factory in Aleppo.


Also, the Syrian army stormed the strongholds of foreign-backed militants in Damascus countryside, claiming the lives of a large number them, including non-Syrians.


In a series of fresh operations conducted on Saturday, the brave soldiers targeted non-Syrian rebels in Khan al-Shih, Damascus countryside and killed scores of them, the Syrian state news agency reported.


Jordanian insurgent Sa'd Mohammed al-Qalat, Moroccan rebel Mohamed Ali Tuban and Egyptian militant Abdul-Wahab al-Husni were identified among the dead.


Five cars with all terrorists inside them were also destroyed.


Elsewhere, the Syrian Army gained upper hand in a number of successful operations against the rebels in Lattakia and Idlib countryside, killing several insurgents, some of them of foreign nationalities.


The Syrian soldiers stormed the gathering centers of the militants in Sahet al-Kurd, Tertiah and Droushan, leaving many of them dead and wounded, Syrian Arab News Agency reported.


The operations also resulted in the destruction of two vehicles loaded with weapons and ammunition.


Khaled al-Seyed and Ahmad Abdoun, two leaders of al-Nusra Front, were identified among the killed insurgents.


Areas in the villages and towns of Qmeinas, al-Mjas, Bezzit and al-Bsheiriyeh in the countryside of Idlib were also targeted by the Syrian forces.
